Bahrain, 15 January 2019 - CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate advisory firm, has commissioned an exclusive piece of art to celebrate its 10th anniversary in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
To commemorate the occasion, renowned local artist Abbas Almosawi was asked to create a piece that captured the relationship that CBRE has built with Bahrain over the past decade. The artwork also celebrates the important contributions that the company has made to the development of the country’s real estate sector.
CBRE opened its Bahrain office at the end of 2008 with two employees. Over the last 10 years, the company has expanded to 25 real estate professionals that cover a wide range of specialities including property management, valuation, portfolio reviews, market research, development consultancy, leasing and transaction advisory services. CBRE now manages over 265,000 square metres of commercial office, retail, residential and industrial property with a combined annual rental income of over BD10 million across the Kingdom introducing international best practice standards.
The painting is now on public display in the lobby of the iconic United Tower on Bahrain Bay, which is a trophy property managed by CBRE and the location of their corporate Head Office in Bahrain. Almosawi has also issued a limited print run of 100 exclusive prints which are to be gifted as part of the company’s anniversary celebrations.
CBRE has played a pivotal role in a number of iconic projects over the past decade, including the property management and leasing of United Tower, Bahrain Bay with 26,000 square metres of prime commercial office space and Enma Mall in East Riffa, a Kuwait Finance House retail development with a gross leasable area of 27,000 square metres.
CBRE has also undertaken major consultancy assignments over the last 10 years, the most notable being assisting the Economic Development Board and new Real Estate Regulatory Authority in 2018/19 to create increased transparency in the real estate market by publishing multi-sector market reports that promote inward investment.
Almosawi is one of the most celebrated and recognised artists in the GCC. He is lauded for his impressionistic style and artistic interpretation of his home country, Bahrain.
