Caransa Groep Sells Holiday Inn Express City Hall in Amsterdam

Caransa Groep B.V. has sold the Holiday Inn Express City Hall, located at Valkenburgerstraat 14 in Amsterdam, to a Spanish investor. The hotel, located in the city center, offers 80 rooms and was built in 2018. The transaction includes a long-term fixed lease agreement with Borealis Hotel Group.
Anthony Grupping, Associate Director at CBRE, commented on the transaction: “Amsterdam remains the leading hotel market in the Netherlands, characterized by robust leisure and corporate demand. Given Amsterdam's status as a premier hotel market, this transaction highlights confidence in the city's long-term, low-risk investment potential, driven by a strict hotel moratorium.”
The hotel is operated by Borealis Hotel Group under the Holiday Inn Express brand. Borealis Hotel Group, a hospitality operator in the Netherlands, manages 27 hotels across Europe.
The seller, Caransa Groep B.V., was commercially advised in this transaction by CBRE. Legal counsel for the seller was provided by Osborne Clarke. The technical due diligence was conducted by CBRE. De La Fuente Advocaten, Nauta, Drees & Sommer and Deloitte represented the buyer.
